The cap for the VW T5-T6.1 California Comfortline & Ocean (from year of construction 2008 to today) - electro-hydraulic roof

Our California roof cover, the so-called hat or Calicap, is not only the ideal solution if you want to do autumn or winter camping with your California, but also protects against high indoor temperatures and rain in summer.
The membrane fabric Airtex is characterized by its absolute impermeability to water, robustness and durability. The hat and the insulating cap effect give you optimal protection in bad and cold weather.

The selection of the cap color relates to the color of the main part (roof / front / rear) and the contrasting color to the side panels. It is recommended to order the roof in silver and the sides e.g. in anthracite, dark blue, light blue, red or orange. The darker the roof color, the more the "Belle Etage" heats up when exposed to sunlight.

From model 2008 until today, the roof geometry of the electro-hydraulic roof has not changed, so the hat also fits the current Ocean models T6.1
You can order any hat model with or without a window and "open top" (for roof luggage systems), with a solar window or closed.
Simply select the appropriate points from the options. If you want a solar window on the roof, simply click on the solar window, after the payment process you will have the option to load a PDF, please enter the exact dimensions of the panel and send it back to us.

You can roll up the hat at the front, left and right and fix it at the top.

In addition to the standard accessories, you receive 2 piping stones and two additional tensioners for the straps, which securely hold the rolled-up hat in place. The zippers are equipped with pull cords and can be pulled from bottom to top (deflection point on the cap) and from top to bottom.

The T5 California "hat effect"
The cover creates a protective air cushion.
Effect 1: The permanently installed cotton tent bellows no longer get wet.
Effect 2: The insulation effect of the air cushion. Lower interior temperature in summer, less heat loss through the erected roof in winter.
A constant distance of approx. 4 cm between hat and roof ensures good ventilation without moisture build-up.

• 10 metal eyelets for securing the hat to the piping strip.
• (The positions of the eyelets also allow the Cali cap to be securely attached if you have installed an awning.)
